Shanthi Lewis, MD

Dr. Shanthi Lewis graduated from St. Johns Medical College in India. She completed her residency training in Psychiatry at Rutgers University-Robert Wood Johnson and, while there, also obtained certification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy through New York Medical College. She went on to further fellowship training in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psycho-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Dr. Lewis joined the Department of Psychiatry at LVHN/LVPG in 2006 as an attending psychiatrist on the Consultation/Liaison Service. Through her work on the Cancer Support team, she has provided specialized mental health treatment for patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Dr. Lewis is also very active in teaching residents and medical students as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at USF/Morsani College of Medicine and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor, Thomas Jefferson University. As an educator, she provides attending support to the Resident Consultation/Liaison teaching service at Muhlenberg and supervises junior and senior residents in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. She also is a member of the Psychiatry Residency Selection and Clinical Competency Committees, promoting excellence in Psychiatry residency training at LVHN.
