Nima Mowzoon, MD

Dr. Nima Mowzoon, MD, MBA, Chief Executive Officer, began his educational journey at the University of Miami School of Medicine and continued, completing both his internship in internal medicine and neurology residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Mowzoon completed his neurophysiology and neuromuscular fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Mowzoon started his career in Albany, NY where he began clinical practice until 2007 when he moved to Ft. Myers, FL.
Dr. Mowzoon, in coordination with the ALS Association and LMHS, founded and sponsored the only Southwest Florida multidisciplinary ALS clinic in 2009. Dr. Mowzoon also developed the rapid response acute stroke protocol at Lee Memorial Health System and founded/chaired a multidisciplinary quality committee that overlooked the quality of care of stroke patients. Dr. Mowzoon became the Director of Stroke and Vascular Neurology at Lee Health System, and along with establishing all protocols of care and advancing the program to Comprehensive Designation, was also responsible for establishing the transitional care clinic “Lee Prevent”, which provides stroke patients rapid access to outpatient clinic follow-up care after hospitalization.
Dr. Mowzoon then founded Virtual Neurology, a national telemedicine company, in 2012, and later he founded a multiple-service line telemedicine management company, Telespecialists. Since its inception, the companies have grown to provide care across the United States under multiple corporate contracts and partnerships across the United States. Dr. Mowzoon currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for both companies.
