Dr. Gunasekera earned her medical degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. She completed both her internship and adult neurology residency at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, where she also pursued a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and electroencephalography. Dr. Gunasekera has received awards for excellence in both pediatric and clinical neurology.
