2024 - 2025 Patterns of Abuse and Neglect

The intent of this presentation is to provide a comprehensive overview of child abuse and neglect (CAN).  The presenter will discuss the prevalence of child abuse, specifically in the United States, and how it has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  The presentation will also discuss how CAN leads to toxic stress and other health problems.  In addition, the presenter will describe methods for assessment of toxic stress and for preventative intervention.
