Renata Chalfin emigrated from the former Soviet Union with her family when she was four years old. She grew up in south Florida, graduating salutatorian of her high school class, then went to Cornell University for her B.A. in Biology and Education, followed by Johns Hopkins School of Medicine working toward a Ph.D. Following a year, she realized her true passion was medicine, so she left her Ph.D. program and ultimately started medical school at the University of Central Florida. She completed her Internal Medicine preliminary year and her Neurology residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. After graduation, she started her own practice called Ideal Neurology Clinic in her home town, which she still runs part time. She joined Telespecialists in 2020. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping patients, teaching, and research. She lives in south Florida with her husband, two young sons, and their cat.
