2025/2026 - Psychiatry Essentials - Rest Assured: Medication and Behavioral Strategies for Sleep Disorders

This educational activity provides an overview of common sleep disorders encountered in clinical practice. Participants will review the neurobiology and architecture of normal sleep, learn to recognize key clinical features of major sleep disorders—including insomnia, sleep-related breathing disorders, hypersomnolence disorders, parasomnias, and circadian rhythm disorders—and explore evidence-based approaches to evaluation and management. The session also highlights when referral to a sleep specialist is appropriate to improve patient outcomes.
