Menopause: Neuropsychiatric Symptoms, Cognitive Health, and Hormonal Influence
This session will explore the intersection between menopause and neurological and psychological health. We will examine how hormonal changes during the menopausal transition influence mood, cognition, sleep, and the risk for neurodegenerative disease. The presentation will review current evidence-based approaches for assessing and managing neuropsychiatric symptoms in menopausal patients, including hormonal and non-hormonal therapies, lifestyle interventions, and integrative strategies. The session will also provide practical frameworks for interdisciplinary collaboration between neurologists, psychologists, and primary care clinicians in managing menopausal patients.
