John Lynch, MD

Dr. Lynch is originally from South Africa and grew up in Kansas City. He earned a BA in English from Brown University and graduated from Duke University School of Medicine. He remained at Duke where he completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Neurology, as well as a fellowship in Stroke and Neurocritical Care.
He joined the Neurology Faculty at Duke where he stayed until moving to Wisconsin to complete a fellowship in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then served on the faculty there as an Associate Professor in Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology. He also served as Director of Neuroscience Service Line and Inpatient Neurology at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin where he helped lead and institute local and regional stroke pathways, including telestroke.
Dr. Lynch is a well-regarded researcher whose areas of expertise include subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, nitric oxide regulation in vasospasm after SAH, biomarkers in acute brain injury, ApoE regulation of acute and chronic brain injuries, acute stroke therapy, intracranial angioplasty and stenting, and pre-operative embolization of head, neck, and spine tumors.
He now resides in Stevensvelle, MI with his wife and Great Dane, where he enjoys triathlons, sailing, and going to the salt-free Lake Michigan beaches.
