2025/2026 - Psychiatry Essentials - Talk That Works: CBT, MI, and Solution-Focused Strategies for Non-Psychiatrists
This session introduces practical psychotherapeutic strategies—Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)—for use by non-psychiatrists in medical settings. These evidence-based approaches help address common challenges such as time constraints, patient ambivalence, and nonadherence. Participants will learn how to select and apply brief interventions that empower patients, improve engagement, and support behavioral change without requiring formal psychotherapy training.
