2023 - 2024 Suicide
The intent of this lecture is to discuss suicide affecting both patients, as well as physicians, specifically. The activity will review the prevalence and impact, as well as risk factors for suicide. The presenter will define suicidal ideation and discuss how this applies in the ED/primary care setting, including methods for screening and assessment, and management of patients. The activity will specifically review The Baker Act, and how to appropriately manage/refer patients.
